Permission to make reproductions of or from Ordnance Survey Ireland material.
The permit is one of a range of copyright products, designed to facilitate the requirements of the public to copy or reproduce OSi mapping data and aerial photography.
Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) maps, data and publications are copyright Ordnance Survey Ireland and Government of Ireland and are protected under the terms of the Copyright Acts.
Anyone wishing to reproduce OSi material, or use it as a basis for their own publications, must obtain prior permission from OSi.
The permit covers reproduction of OSi mapping data in facsimile form and also the use of copyright material in a new compilation based on OSi mapping.
The permit requires that an acknowledgement to Ordnance Survey Ireland and Government of Ireland copyright and a permit number must appear on the final reproduction.
Royalty fees are determined by the area and scale of mapping reproduced, the print quantity and the type of publication.
Permit numbers that must appear on the reproductions are issued on receipt of the completed application form and payment of any royalty fee as may be appropriate.
Copyright royalties are subject to the current higher rate of VAT 23%.

Annual Copyright Licence
This licence is available to Professionals and Businesses who wish to obtain permission to reproduce OSi mapping for use within their business environment. Some examples of the sectors which avail of this licence are:
Architects Engineers and Surveyors – Licence benefits include the submission of copyright compliant reproduced OSi mapping for planning permission, property registration etc.
Auctioneers, Estate Agents and Valuers – Licence benefits include the reproduction of OSi mapping for property promotion within brochures.
