OSi provide a number of Large Scale products and product options suited to everyone’s needs. Complete National coverage is available for all our Land and Property Maps and customers can choose their own Area of Interest when purchasing any of these options.

Planning Packs

OSi Large Scale Mapping is required by your Local Authority when applying for planning permission. To assist our customers with their planning application process Ordnance Survey Ireland provides Planning Packs to meet their Local Planning Authority’s needs (please first check with your Local Planning Authority for their specific requirements).Our Planning Packs can be purchased online or from our map sales office in the Phoenix Park, Dublin [email protected] .

The packs are supplied at A3 or A4 size and will include two Maps depicting the same Area of Interest; one large scale Urban (scale 1;1000) or Rural (scale 1;2500) Map and one Record Place Map (scale 1;10560). The planning pack can be either paper (PDF best for one off applications) or digital (DWG requires specialist software). All digital outputs come with associated reference files. PLEASE NOTE: The specific requirements in relation to the number and type of mapping required varies for one Local Authority to another, please check with them before you purchase a planning pack.  Planning Packs are intended for use solely for planning purposes.

Land Registry Compliant Map

Land Registry Compliant Maps are a single detailed largescale site map for Land Registration purposes. The function of an OSi Land Registry Compliant Map is

  • To provide a map of the Area-of-Interest for submission to the Property Registration Authority in support of a Land Registry application.
  • To provide a map of the Area-of-Interest, for submission to the Property Registration Authority for the purpose of buying or selling land.
  • To provide a map of the Area-of-Interest for submission to the Property Registration Authority in support of First Registrations, Subdivisions of Registered Property and Rights over Registered Property etc.

The Property Registration Authority (formerly Land Registry) accepts Ordnance Survey Ireland Land Registry Compliant Maps, with Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM) co-ordinates shown on the upper right corner and the lower left corner. A Land Registry Compliant Map is an extract (A4 or A3 size) of the most up to date mapping detail for the defined Area of Interest. The map is supplied as a PDF file.

Note: Land Registry Compliant maps contain specific data map layers that make it unsuitable for planning purposes. The maps are available to purchase and download from our online store from [email protected] .

 

Digital Landscape Models – DLMCore Large Scale Data

Our DLMCore data is extracted from OSi’s PRIME database; a standardised, authoritative digital framework that enables the consistent referencing and integration of data related to location. This is a detailed database of roads, rivers, buildings and all the features you’d expect to find on a large scale map and is available in a range of formats and projections. The data included in our DLMCore products comes from a combination of sources; re-engineered data from OSi’s previous digital database, and new data plotted from orthophotography or captured on site by GPS. The Digital Landscape Model (DLM) allows the data to be attributed with metadata, including text labels (placenames etc.), and lifecycle status (indicating when individual objects were first mapped, emended, or deleted).

PLACE Maps

OSi Printable PLACE Maps are our most comprehensive largescale paper map offering and are the ideal mapping product for Planning, Legal, Agricultural, Construction and Engineering applications. On-demand availability is your guarantee that you will always receive the most current, relevant and highly-detailed survey information available for any location in the Republic of Ireland. All OSi PLACE mapping is derived from our Largescale Prime DLM (Digital Landscape Model), providing national topographic coverage in Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM) projection.

OSi Printable PLACE Maps are available in a range of standard paper sizes from A4 to A0, Landscape or Portrait orientation, to a scaled output of either 1:1,000,1:2,500 or 1:5000 and can be delivered to you electronically as a PDF file (A4 & A3 size only) or printed by OSi and supplied by post (A2-A0 size only). All A4 and A3-size PLACE maps are output as print-optimised PDF digital documents and are available to download for immediate printing. A2-A0 options are professionally printed in-house by OSi, and shipped by post.
