The Object Geometry used to produce this cartographic product has been extracted from OSi’s PRIME2, Remote Sensing/Imagery or Height database. This product represents the physical features on the ground at the time of survey. The capture resolution of the data may derive from a number of different sources including taped measurements, GPS instruments, remote sensing or Imagery, legacy data and in some cases Third Party sources.

The features shown fall within the specification for the survey scale and within agreed accuracy tolerances of the original capture. Measurements must not be expected to give a degree of accuracy greater than that of the original capture. OSI positional accuracy testing indicates that 97.8% of hard detail as represented on OSI products is within 2.5 metres or better of their true ground position.

The product may be output at a number of different resolutions which may not be indicative of the capture resolution. Reducing or enlarging the map will also affect the accuracy of the product.

Traditionally, urban areas have been captured at a scale of 1:1000, suburban areas at a scale of 1:2:500 and rural areas at a scale of 1:5,000. With the introduction of PRIME2, OSi have recently moved to object or themed revision cycles. This may provide a greater capture resolution for some features in certain locations.
