Accessibility Statement

Ordnance Survey Ireland is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.

This accessibility statement applies to content published on www.osi.ie.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, due to the non-accessible content listed below. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. The site meets the majority of Level AA requirements and a number of Level A.

Non-Accessible Content

We are working to improve the accessibility compliance of our website for all audiences. Some parts of the OSi website are not fully accessible, and we are continuing to address these issues. These may include:

  • Some video and audio content may be missing alternatives, captions, descriptions or text transcripts. These are being reviewed for improvement on a case-by-case basis.
  • The site has multiple similar banner landmarks due to the page template.
  • There are some elements on the page where the use of role and aria tags are not available due to the nature of the site plugin, therefore affecting the semantic structure of the content.

If any of our content is not easily accessible, please contact us directly (see details below).

Preparation of This Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement was prepared on 7th April 2022.

In preparation for this statement, OSi engaged with a third party to conduct a full accessibility audit of the website. This assessment evaluated conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level A and AA

This review identified a number of issues which have since been addressed in order to ensure a high standard of accessibility, including ensuring elements have sufficient colour contrast ratios, ensuring ID attributes are unique and heading and list structures are semantically correct, and providing text alternatives for non-text content.
