OSi and Enterprise Ireland Workshop entitled “Emerging Technologies and Business Opportunities in the Location Services Market”

100 Irish SME’s attended a half day seminar organised by Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) and Enterprise Ireland on May 10th to look at the opportunities posed by the fast moving Location Based Services (LBS) market. An international panel of speaker’s addressed the seminar. The initative was taken by OSi and Enterprise Ireland to determine the level of interest from Irish entrepreneurs in this area.

LBS services uses location or geographic information to deliver a service to a mobile customer. The seminar was addressed by the following keynote speakers:

  • Ludovic Privat, Editor, GPS Business News.com
  • Jonathan Raper, Founder of Placr and Professor at the giCentre City University London.
  • Dr Mícheál Ó Foghlú, CTO of FeedHenry Ltd. and Director Research at the TSSG in Waterford Institute of Technology.
  • John Caulfield, Solutions Director, Oracle Ireland.
  • Alan Gormley, Business Advisory, SAS Ireland.
